Field support technician

Our office is conveniently located at 15347 South Dixie Highway in Monroe, one block south of Dunbar Road.[/caption]We're a small, growing IT services company seeking to add a field support technician to our staff. We specialize in the computer support needs of small businesses and not for profit agencies in Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio. Most of our clients are in Monroe, Downriver Detroit, and Toledo, Ohio.Strong experience in Windows desktop systems (Windows 8, Windows 7, and, unfortunately, still XP for a few clients), Windows Server (2003 through 2012), networking, cabling, Microsoft Office, and web and email configuration is desired. Skills that are not necessary, but helpful, would include Linux experience, web development in Wordpress, and group policy. If you have experience with any line of business applications or medical office practice management systems, that is definitely a plus.In this position you will:1. Answer client phone calls, enter and triage tickets, and work tickets remotely.2. Perform on site service for clients.3. Administer users and groups on client networks.4. Install and configure new desktop PCs, notebooks and servers.5. Document and maintain client network, user, and software configuration records.6. Run new cabling.7. Troubleshoot network and workstation issues.8. Work with client's third party software vendors to resolve issues a client may have.9. All of the other duties and responsibilities that go along with managing a client's IT infrastructure.The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following core values:1. You'll normally dress business casual (no jeans except when doing cabling work). There are a high number of customer service "touches" needed, so we always present a positive attitude to our clients.
