If you don’t know what Skype is that’s quite surprising considering is has become very popular worldwide and even has commercials that advertise their services. For those of you that do not know, Skype, is an application that allows phone calls, instant messaging, and even live video chat via their software with users around the world.
Skype has become so popular that Microsoft has just put in an offer to purchase the company for $8.5 billion. There are a lot of people that are worried that if Microsoft acquires Skype (which is already agreed upon might I add) that the services will become slower and not as functional as they used to be. Another concern is that Microsoft will do away with the free services Skype offered. One of the free services Skype offers is free video chat to consumers (For Business use the services do have some cost associated but offer other perks as well).
