Western Digital Improving Data Center Capacity

One of the biggest concerns when designing data centers is space. Many times when a company is looking into a location for offsite backups, virtual servers, email, etc. prices are largely determined by the amount of storage space they will need. Over the years small business have been looking more and more at the possibility of using virtual servers in their environment and many company have already made the switch to hosted email solutions rather than having onsite email servers in order to cut costs.

Since cutting costs is always in consumers plans, data centers have to look for ways to become more efficient and cost effective as well. Western Digital, one of the leading hard drive companies just released a more cost effective, high capacity hard drive. These larger hard drives also offer higher speeds than what has been available in the past so not only are the drives offering more storage capacity and making these services cheaper they are offering high performance as well.
