Google partnered with Kia and Hyundai

Google is looking to expand to the automobile industry. The first vehicle to get the upgrade will be the 2014 Kia Sorento CUV. This will not only provide you with the latest Navigation Software but also show you places around you. While these features are not new, they are for being provided by Google. Most other GPS units update their databases from the company created database. This can be limited based on your GPS provider.

Kia was the first to get this integration since they already laid the groundwork with the Kia app UVO. UVO is an app that allows to communicate with your vehicle and provide hands-free connectivity for your phone. Google maps and places will be integrated into this app.
Google has very recently announced that they will be launching these apps with new Hyundai vehicles equipped with GPS. It is not clear which models will receive the Google apps yet.
