Huawei on the Hot Seat Again

China based telecommunications company Huawei is again drawing fire for its participation in activities out government frowns upon. Reuters reviewed a number of documents indicating that Huawei bid on an equipment purchase that Iran was looking to buy.

The problem is that this equipment is restricted, and in some cases banned under embargo between the US and Iran. Several months ago a number of organization within the US that were looking to purchase telecommunications equipment were strongly urged to look to other providers for the equipment.

Huawei has been labeled a security risk for by the US government due to its shady practices and the fact that they do not allow the government full access to verify that all of its equipment is manufactured without the use of backdoors or other security risks to our nation as the main location for Huawei is in China.
